On Sunday June 30th the CECC Academy Performance squad took on the Shaun Brown Academy touring side, all the way from Melbourne Australia.

In a low scoring game, the tourists won the toss and elected to field. Early wickets fell, but Gil Ludlow (21) and Thoms Kershaw (16) rebuilt, handing over to Joe Norton (10) and Sammy Lury Middleton (10*) to get the total to 101 off 20 for the lose of 6 wickets.

The Aussies were put under immediate pressure with the ball with wickets for Harsh Vipendra, Thomas Kershaw, Joe Norton, Finley Gibbons (2), and Sam Allard. CECC looked like the more likely victors until some late order striking by Bell (15*), Blizzard (14) and McKay (10) saw the tourists over the line with 8 balls to spare.

A fatastic day of cricket and although the Cot Ashes will be travelling back down under, we look forward to contesting them again in 2025!
